Lark Barlow is the pen name for the co-authors, two former high school classmates now living in Michigan and Connecticut. Many years after graduating, over drinks in a bar, in a reunion of sorts, reminiscence of late night fiction writing exercises in school, they hatched the idea of penning a mystery, a fun story to read when stuck in an airport. The next day, one classmate wrote the first paragraph of Nina. The next day, the other classmate wrote the next five paragraphs. And thus the process began, one of write and read, read and write, each writer handing the football back and forth, and the keys to the car, with no back seat driving or editing until the end, when the mystery solved itself, the journey completed, the car was back in the garage.
